Overview

Air Intake Screens are usually added when the cooling tower is installed in dusty or open environments. In many Southeast Asian factories, leaves, insects, and floating waste are common problems, and this is where intake screens become useful.

Purpose

The main purpose of an air intake screen is simple: stop unwanted objects before they enter the cooling tower.

Materials

Most Air Intake Screens are made from PP mesh, reinforced PVC mesh, or composite plastic panels. These materials resist corrosion and work well in outdoor conditions.

Structure

The screen is usually installed as a flat or slightly curved panel in front of the air inlet. The opening size is designed to allow enough airflow while still stopping larger objects.

Efficiency

When properly sized, the screen has very little impact on airflow. It acts as a protective layer without creating serious pressure loss.

Selection Tips

Choose mesh size based on the local environment. Areas with many insects or leaves should use finer mesh, while industrial zones may prefer stronger grid structures.

Maintenance

Maintenance is easy. Screens can be cleaned with water or compressed air. In dusty areas, cleaning once every few weeks helps keep airflow stable.
